We were craving for some egg puffs and came across this place while searching on the internet. A small quaint bakery situated right in Madikeri town. We had egg puff, veg puff, banana cake and plum cake. Each item was perfect and tasted delicious. The puffs were soft and crispy and the stuffing was too good. The flavours were subtle and delicious. Banana cake was the star. So soft and flavourful that we couldn't just stop at 2-3 pieces! The owner, Chengappa uncle was very welcoming and warm. He was kind enough to offer us a slice of plum cake as a compliment from him. Definitely visiting this place again whenever we visit coorg. This place is a true gem in every sense! The best thing that happened in August! BFP has started baking egg and veg puffs once again, after more than a decade. BFP or Bangalore food products is a household name in Madikeri. They bake fresh breads, cakes and biscuits. Their breads are a staple at home. During my school holidays we used to enjoy their puffs, fresh out of the oven. Later on they stopped baking puffs. I remember asking them on multiple occasions if they had any plans of restarting it because I used to miss having them. 2 days back when I stepped into their tiny little outlet attached to the factory, to pick up bread, I was overjoyed to see the delicious puffs back in the oven. I can vouch for the freshness of their products. The breads don't last more than 2 days at room temperature as they don't add harmful preservatives. The puffs are non greasy, the masala is not overpowering and they don't make you sick once you have them unlike the ones you get in other bakeries in Madikeri. The best part is they have maintained the quality over many decades.
