Landed up here by chance. This is located opposite RDB. We went there looking for some other restaurant which was closed and hence ended up here. It is the Chinese hand of Funjabi Tadka. We opted for the lunch buffet and we're aghast at their offerings for 400 bucks.
For starters we had butter garlic fish, chicken drumstick, konjee crispy lamb, chicken dimsum. The Dimsums are the best I've had till date, even better than Mainland China. The other starters were very tasty. For main course, we had noodles, fried rice, garlic chicken, prawns which were quite big in size. They made stir fried lamb live in counter. They had sushi too!!!
Desserts were a bit of a turnoff. There were only strawberry Darsaan n some tasteless cake
Would have given a 5 if not for the dessert

A very nice and cozy restaurant with a group of extremely courteous and hospitable staff. The buffet was quite good and extremely reasonable. Their shushi and nigiri were quite nice. Should try atleast once.

Visited this place with my 50-membered team today. And came out completely disappointed!

The service was pathetic! There was a huge delay in between serving the starters and shortage of supply both in starters and main course items. Also, The lamb served in main course was undercooked; it remained chewy even after we requested the waiter to change the same!
The main course preparations were pretty average, except the prawn dish. The rice, noodles and chicken, all three were pathetically bland in taste.
Also, there were items missing in the spread, like Darsan was not there in the dessert section., or Lamb was missing from the main course.

The arrangements was cramped, without any proper ventilation and temperature control.
To add into it, they had some really un-courteous waiters. While some were trying their best to feed the 50-membered team, the others were just busy instructing them and eventually adding to the mess.

Even after advance booking and several reminders a day before, they agreed to arrange things right for our lunch party. Visibly, they could do nothing they had promised to and it was a complete failure from their side.
It may be just another bad day for them, but theytotally screwed up our team lunch today.

Never going back to this place!

Good food at good price.. thats what Ahoy! Asia stand for! A new restaurant in Sector5 and that too a Asian one..I proposed this place at the 1st chance for a brunch and was approved by my husband!!

We entered the place fully drowned.. and the decor pleased our eyes.. bright, colorful, edgy.. just the right patterns to break the monotony of a monsoon afternoon.. The hearty greetings gave it a good start.. We opted for non-veg buffet and they served the soup on table.. Chicken Coriander Soup .. it was bang on! Such a refreshing start to two drowned souls.. It was soooooo perfectly balanced, that we immediately felt good about our selection of Ahoy! Asia!!

The starters were flowing in.. What not they served.. Chicken Lat me kai, Crispy chilli baby corn, Crispy Konjee Lamb, Vermicelli Fish, Veg and Chicken Dimsum.. And trust me, all of them were superb... fresh ingredients, subtle flavors.. A special mention for the lamb and dimsum.. Totally loved them!!

We were almost full for anything else, still wanted to taste their main course items.. both noodles and rice were good.. Veg in Thai green curry was tasty.. Potato in Sweet chilly sauce looked tempting.. Both Schezwan Chicken and Prawn in Oyster Sauce was good.. A specialty of this restaurant is, they use mild and subtle flavors of spices.. Kolkata is tired of those over-soya chinese dishes.. Ahoy! is a change welcome!!

What struck us is they are serving SUSHI at this price.. Salmon, Prawn and Veg Sushi.. I was trying Sushi for the first time and it tasted OK.. may be I need to grow the taste for Sushi!!

The dessert section seemed to be on a little weaker side.. with only Cut fruits and Darsan with vanilla icecream on their menu.. But who cares when the fruits are mango!! Chilled ripe Himsagar pieces.. which just made our day again!! Darsan with icecream was also tasty.. But nothing could beat the mango platter!!

953/- was the total damage for two.. happy tummies, happy souls!!!
