A local attraction - Joshi's Museum of Miniature Railways, which is situated near this restaurant, is a part of the unique culture of this city. The varied menu based on Vegetarian cuisine is what you are offered at Zatka Misal. According to the guests' opinions, waiters serve tasty turkey here. This place offers the great tea selection.
The cute staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place great. A lot of reviewers suppose that the service is spectacular. Average prices are to be expected at this spot. The peaceful ambiance makes a good impression on people. But a number of visitors who use Google didn't give this restaurant a high rating.
Located smack on the main road, this place reminds me that humble beginnings can also make it big. There is no sort of ambiance as such, just a house kitchen and few tables arranged in the front yard. I was glad that there was a roof over my head, else it would have been difficult to enjoy the yummy Maharashtrian meal if it started raining.
The menu has some 20-24 items, belonging to broadly 4-5 categories of Dhapata, Paratha, South Indian and Maharashtrian. Ofcourse there was tea and coffee as well.
We tried quite some of their dishes. Starting with the Misal. I was afraid that it'll be unbearably spicy, but I am glad what wasn't the case. It did have a spicy, masaledar tang to it, but it was enjoyable and lip-smacking spicy, not the I'll have to drink 2 litres of cold water to pacify this burning sensation wala spicy.
The Dhapata is what won my heart. Served with pickle, green chutney and curd, this dish was simple perfect. Right from its crunchy-ness till it's taste, I appreciated it all.
Next was 2-3 different kinds of parathas and a glass full of cold coffee.
My over all opinion is that this is a really good place to have your typical but tasty homemade breakfast. But because of its fame, I think the prices are few tens of % more than it's compitition, which I am happy to pay but it does affect the rating that I am planning to give.
Anyway, If you are not a misal fan, I'd still recommend Zatka Misal for it's Dhapatas! (And other dishes as well, bt still do give their misal a try, is really good and doesn't burn the insides of your digestive system!
Happy Burping!!!
