When I visited Yercaud, having coffee at the "Yercaud Filter Coffee" shop happened naturally, like a routine one wouldn't want to miss. The taste of their coffee was truly world-class. I say this with confidence because I have had the opportunity to taste coffee from various parts of the world, and I could immediately recognize the quality and depth of this one. I spoke to the owner of the shop, who surprisingly turned out to be a film actor. During our conversation, he mentioned that their aim was to serve coffee of international standards. To achieve this, they use only premium-quality coffee beans, which they grind fresh for each batch. He also emphasized their commitment to the environment by using biodegradable cups, which cost ₹4.50 each — a detail that reflects their responsibility towards nature. What impressed me the most was their Black Coffee — served without milk or sugar, allowing one to experience the authentic, bold flavour with a subtle bitterness that true coffee lovers appreciate. Despite the superior quality, the prices remain extremely affordable. They follow a self-service model similar to what we see in international cafés, yet the place is spotless and highly hygienic.
