Hot Yak is one of those places in McLeodganj we keep coming back to, and honestly, the stir-fried beans are a big reason why. Perfectly cooked, smoky, garlicky, and ridiculously addictive, they’re the kind of dish you order “for the table” and then quietly hope no one else notices how much you’re eating. We’ve been here multiple times over the years, and it never disappoints. Warm, comforting food, a relaxed vibe, and dishes that feel familiar yet special every single time. Pork peanut dish had just peanuts and just a tiny tiny amount of meat and that too overdone dry. Noodles were 250 rupees but taste like college canteen dhaba 70 rupees type. Worst food in Mcleodganj Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹200–400 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

My friend and I were in McLeodganj for 7 days and we dined at the Hot Yak restaurant 3 times. That's a testimony to how fantastic the food is at this restaurant. The sheer range of pork, mutton, chicken and mushroom dishes is amazing! A vibrant ambience and quick service, this is exactly what you need at the end of a long day of sightseeing or workationing. Now that I am back home in Mumbai, all my memories of the quaint town of McLeodganj are heavily connected to the mouth-watering food at Hot Yak and fingers crossed, I get to go back some day for some more :).
