Xtasy Lounge
Xtasy lounge is located in Pride hotel which is located in Shivaji Nagar. Pride hotel is a chain of 5 star hotel. It's a old chain. I was here for the Sangria and Tapas festival. The ambience of this place is like a typical old school classic bar and lounge.
BEVERAGES
Strawberry Iced tea.
Iced tea having a flavour of strawberry. Nothing to special about the iced tea. And it was more watery rather to much ice was added to drink which ruined the whole taste.
Normal Indian Sangria
Sangria is a drink made from wine. There is no perfect recipe or nor a predefined method to make one. Sangria is usually a mixture of wine and fruits. So this sangria was mixed with apples and oranges. This is usually kept for 3 to 4 hours. This allows the fruits to release their sweetness into the wine. It's more fruity cocktail.
Sangria with Vodka
This was also made from wine. The wine they choose for this was the wine made from Shiraz grape wine. This had the normal sangria along with some vodka into it. Adding vodka into the drink gave it a great kick. It had a alcoholic after taste to it.
FOOD
Nachos
This were nothing so fancy nachos, they were tortillas chips served with some salsa and cheese sauce. The salsa they made was pretty good. It had a kick from the chilly and a good sour taste from the tomatoes.
Tomato Crostini
Crostini is open sandwich. This was made from bread topped with 2 types of tomatoes and some cheese on the top. It was okish to have it. But these enhance a bit taste of the sangria
Grilled Prawns (Gambas al Ajillo)
This dish had a Spanish touch to it. Its grilled garlic prawns which they made. The prawns where marinated with some herbs and garlic and some salt and pepper. Then these were grilled to perfection. Simple things used for cooking but it was great on taste. It was also served with a cheese sauce.
Calamares a La Romana (Fried Squid)
These were pieces of squid mixed with a light batter made from all purpose flour. This batter also had some paprika and salt into it. Then the squid was deep fried. This dish had really amazing crisp outside and a moist squid inside. It was served with Aioli sauce.
VERDICT
They have sangria fest going on till 31 march. The entire tapas menu which goes with the sangria have be designed so you could get a kick of some Spanish food and great sangria.
