Horrible experience! I went with my family to Calangute Beach, and as soon as we entered, it started pouring out of nowhere. This restaurant had a passage where tourists were standing until the rain eased, but the staff, especially a group of big men, started pushing the tourists out of their property, shouting and growling. There was a couple with a months-old baby waiting there because of the rain, and the area where the tourists stood wasn’t even inside the restaurant—it was just under the shade of the roof. These men even pushed the woman holding the baby, which led to a heated argument between the man and the staff. Showing no empathy, the group of four to five men overpowered the couple, and they eventually left. We were also being pushed even though we had children with us, so my father decided to go inside the restaurant, sit at a table, and order something instead of arguing. We sat at a table and decided to order starters for now, but the waiter, who had clearly been sent to kick us out, was rude and not interested in taking our order. He told us that if we wanted to stay, we needed to make a minimum bill of ₹3,000 or leave. At this point, it became clear that the problem was the restaurant’s racist and classist attitude. They were not interested in serving people who appeared middle-class or not wealthy enough, and their behavior also seemed to reflect a discriminatory attitude towards Maharashtrians. Don’t get the fish thali, the serve of fish fry is small and the fish curry is tasteless. They were not serving the crab curry and had to argue with them to update it to chicken curry. Good views though. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4
