Serving good sambar, vada and idli is the hallmark of this place. Order tasty payasam, pancakes and pudding. Here you can order delicious wine. Great coffee goes well with the nice meal.
The staff is well-trained that's what makes this spot so good. Fine service is something guests like here. Fair prices are to be expected at this restaurant. You will certainly appreciate the calm ambiance and terrific decor. Based on the visitors' feedback on Google, Welcome Hotel deserved 4.3.

Welcome Hotel. Purasawakkam. Chennai. This hotel was in our bucket list for a long time. There were raving reviews in social media about this outlet, especially about their idli sambar (projected as a competitor to Rathna cafe).The hotel is situated in a Main road - purasawakkam. Parking 0* (forget 2/4 wheeler Parking, there is no place even to stand !)Ambience 2*Reception and hospitality 2* (too crowded)Hygiene and clealiness 2*Service 2* (servers are too busy and too overworked)Menu choice 4*Taste and flavour 4*Value for money 4*Hotel remains jam packed always. Not suitable for family dining. May be good for solo dining, when you can wait and find a place to sit.Typically, they serve a set of idli and pour a cup of sambar over it. Sambar flavour is tangy, tasty and up to the mark. Poori was routine stuff. Pocket friendly for solo dining. Try once (or often) if you can withstand the stampede !

Overhyped hotel. Nothing special about the sambar rather than the color. Taste is just okay. Jain sambar is like just boiled dal and tasteless. The place is dirty and unhygienic. Utensils provided are dirty, cheap, rusty and like centuries old. I doubt if they wash it or not or just dip and wipe them out in water. Staff are soo arrogant and ignorant. If you think you will complaint their behavior to the manager then you will get to know they are much worse. There is not even AC and if you look at the price they charge you heavily. Such a low disappointing and disgusting place. If someday food safety officers goes for checking then this place is going to get shut down. Better go to Murugan idli, mantras, Sangeeta Shivalaya or somewhere else.
