Steamed rice + Chicken + Fries + Salad combo - Rs.220/- Wilo's Bistro, Opp. Children's Hospital, Pohkseh, Shillong Chinese, Burgers, Pastas, Combos $$ 09.05.24 Today I'm back at Pohkseh trying the food at Wilo's Bistro. I've visited this spot a few years back when it was called Worley's Bistro. I think the management has changed. I climbed up the stairs that led to this cozy little restaurant. It looked exactly the same apart from the bamboo walling now covering the open area. There were no tables occupied. I looked up the menu & it mostly had Chinese, Burgers, Pastas & combo meals. Being lunch time, I thought I should stick with the Combo meal so I ordered a Steamed rice + Chicken + Fries + Salad combo. The order did take some time to come, about almost half an hour. I believe some of the items were prepared fresh. It had a decent portion of fried rice quality steamed rice, 4 pieces of chicken cooked without any gravy, freshly fried fries & a good amount of sliced vegetables. The rice was the harder quality type but still manageable. The chicken was cooked to perfection. I took a bite & the meat did not break into different strands but simply melted in my mouth. The knifing skills reminded me of China Town's. The dry sauce coating the meat was also very tasty with a tingling of spice. This was one of the best Chinese style chicken I've tasted in some time. The fries were thin unfrozen & freshly cooked. Wished there was more of them. The salad didn't only come with onions but also had a decent quantity of cucumber, tomato & lettuce. I usually do not like my meals dry, but this chicken was an exception. I only hope they maintain this consistency. It was a good meal.
