Macaroni with Chicken & Corn - Rs.230 Rowana's Eatery, Rynjah, Shillong Cafe, Chinese & Continental $$ 30.08.24 Today I'm standing infront of a half closed door with the shutters pulled half way at @rowanaeatery . It was 2pm & I didn't want to skip this place any longer. So I crawled in under the shutter. The lady inside got a shock & I guess at some point of time the idea of being mugged may have crossed her mind. Anyway I politely asked if the cafe was open & she replied that since they had a huge order in the morning they were cleaning up & it may take 10-15mins. Well I'm definitely not crawling back out on an empty stomach so I told her I will wait it out. Inside there was a nice cozy dining space with a few tables on both sides of the door as well as a balcony area which looked like a smoking area. In the meantime I had a look at the menu which had basically the regular cafe items. Now I've not had macaroni for the longest time so I decided to give it a try. There was a chicken version & a corn version, I requested her to prepare for me a chicken version & add some corn to it as well. The order came after 15mins. It came in a medium sized bowl & had a white color sauce which I thought was mayo based. And I don't like things with too much mayo in it. I took a bite & 1st thing was that it was warm & that somehow reduced the mayo taste. However it did not have much flavor even though it had oregano added to it. It did improve when I added a bit of ketchup. Anyway the pasta was cooked perfectly, so was the corn & though it looked a little less for me, there were big chunks of well cooked tasty chicken. The dishes were decent, though nothing particularly stood out in terms of flavor or presentation. However, the ambiance of the place was quite nice—cozy and inviting, making it a comfortable spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The prices were affordable, which made it good value for the experience. If you're looking for a budget-friendly place with a pleasant atmosphere, Rowana Eatery is worth considering, but don't expect anything extraordinary on the menu.
