Shocking and Unsafe Experience at Venissa Cafe Visited Venissa Cafe with friends and had one of the most horrifying experiences ever at a restaurant. We ordered a Caesar Salad, and to our shock, found a live leech crawling in it — yes, an actual live leech. I narrowly missed consuming it. Disgusted and deeply disturbed, we immediately brought it to the staff’s notice. What followed was even more disappointing than the leech incident. The restaurant owner seemed completely unbothered and didn’t express even basic concern or apology. When we requested to cancel the salad from our bill, instead of waiving the bill or offering a meaningful apology, they just removed that item and added a service charge! After insisting, they finally removed the service charge and offered a 10% discount, which I refused out of principle. We paid the amount for what we had ordered (despite not eating much due to obvious reasons). It wasn’t about money — it was about basic hygiene and hospitality, both of which this place lacks. After the incident, I looked up what could happen if someone unknowingly ingested a leech — and I was genuinely terrified by the medical consequences. Feeling lucky to be alive and see my daughter and wife again today. Absolutely avoid this place if you care about your health and safety. Shame on their hospitality and complete negligence.
