Velachery Venkateswara Boli Stall – A Hidden Gem for Chat and Snacks Lovers Tucked away in the heart of Velachery, the Venkateswara Boli Stall is a modest yet vibrant snack spot that packs a surprising punch when it comes to flavor and variety. I had the pleasure of visiting this quaint little place recently, and it turned out to be one of the most satisfying food stops I've made in a while. Ambience & Setup Don’t expect a lavish café setting—this is a small-scale, no-frills outlet with basic seating arrangements, perfect for a casual evening snack. What it lacks in space or decor, it more than makes up for with the authenticity and taste of its offerings. Food Variety The stall specializes in South Indian savouries, as the name suggests, but they also serve a good range of North Indian snacks and popular chaat items. You'll find everything from crispy bolis to spicy samosas, murukku, and even homemade pickles. They also sell cakes and cupcakes, available for takeaway. What I Tried: Katori Chaat I ordered their Katori Chaat, and I must say, it was easily one of the most flavorful chaat experiences I’ve had in recent times. The chaat was beautifully layered with: Fresh curd Soft, well-cooked channa (chickpeas) Finely chopped raw mango Onions and carrots for crunch A tangy-sweet masala blend A generous drizzle of mint chutney that tied everything together perfectly The edible katori (basket) added a nice crisp element and held the ingredients well without becoming soggy too quickly. The overall balance between sweet, tangy, and spicy was just right, making it a complete and satisfying dish on its own. Portion-wise, it's filling enough for one person and offers great value for money. Cupcakes for Takeaway I also picked up a couple of their cupcakes, which were a pleasant surprise. Soft, fresh, and mildly sweet—perfect for a post-snack treat or as a gift for someone. It’s clear they put effort into maintaining quality even in their bakery section. Final Verdict Venkateswara Boli Stall is a true hidden gem for snack enthusiasts in and around Velachery. Whether you're craving traditional South Indian bites or a quick North Indian-style chaat, this place delivers both with flavour and heart. The affordability, quality, and variety make it a top contender for one of the best snack points in the vicinity. Highly recommended for casual snack lovers and chaat enthusiasts. Don’t miss the Katori Chaat—it’s a must-try!
