The 10-course vegetarian menu at Vedic was delightful; a real departure from kaali dal–paneer–naan. The staff was also very attentive. We had a tasting menu of 10 items called Hemantah and my favourite plates were: Makhanphalam - a mustard-y avocado bite that they grind at your table. It was very sharp, pungent and delicious. Amarood - a sweet chilli guava based appetiser Gulkand - cold strawberry sorbet on paan. Very refreshing. Black rice khichda - a black rice khichdi with white butter. This was warm and filling and the taste was subtle with hints of ginger and jeera. Dal Vedic - daal with mushroom kulcha and paratha. I really liked the mushroom kulcha. To be honest, I ate too much.
