Today evening I had been to Varnam Restaurant along with family. I ordered a few dishes and later enquired with the bearer of the special dish of the day "Kalava fish" which was written on the board.As the name was new to me I enquired for the cost and asked to bring the fish only if the fish is a small. The bearer did not inform me the cost but went away and brought a fish of big size. I asked him why he brought this as I had specifically requested for a small size fish as i had already ordered other items. He informed that there are still big fishes costing Rs 900 and more. He also informed that if i can parcel it and take it away as the next day was a hartal day. I felt that I was taken for a ride and the bearer misguided me. The taste of the fish was also not good. So if you happen to visit this restaurant be careful to know the cost before ordering. They charged me Rs 400 and had to pack the item home.- I felt that the bearer didnt guide me properly and purposely didnt mention the cost inspite of my asking.

It's a popular restaurant over there as one of the native recommended us. Food was excellent with variety of options for sea food and the service was quite fast.
