Unique misal served with green gravy, a delicious and different dish. They are serving this since 120 years. Also tried the Batata Bhajji served with green chilli chutney. Chai served in a cup and saucer was very well made. Vaidya upahara gruha proved that a restaurant with very limited menu maintaining premium quality can servile for centuries. A timeless gem in the heart of Pune! If you truly want to experience the roots of Puneri misal, Vaidya Upahar Gruha is the place to be. This isn't just food—it's history served on a plate! Established over 100 years ago, the moment you step in, you can feel the old-world charm that's been lovingly preserved by generations. The misal here is absolutely unique—made with a green curry (karvas) instead of the usual red rassa. It’s mildly spicy, full of flavor, and deeply satisfying. It's served with pohe, chivda, farsan, and freshly chopped onions—simple but unforgettable. They even continue the tradition of serving water in proper steel glasses, something rare in today’s fast-paced world. The place is quite small—only 7 tables—so be prepared for a wait of 20–30 minutes, especially during peak hours. But trust me, it’s worth every second. Finding parking nearby is also a bit tricky, especially in the busy Budhwar Peth area, so plan accordingly. Despite these challenges, it’s the kind of place every Punekar (and visitor) must experience at least once. From the food to the atmosphere, it feels like stepping back in time, in the best way possible. A true culinary heritage spot—highly recommended!
