Uruka provides unlimited Assemese Thali with a combination of non-traditional tasty snacks as starter. One of the unique items was the welcome drink served by a beautiful robot. The tangy sugarless drink made with Cocum was an appetiser. Then they served a recipe of fermented rice with onion slices and mustard oil. The Panipuri that they served was also extremely tasty than the usual taste. They served six different kind of starters along with a large spread for the lunch. The vegetarian menu had a lot of variety. In the non-vegetarian main course, they served traditional recipes of chicken and fish gravy. As a part of the dessert, they served curd with jaggery, custard, halwa and a local sweet. All the staff members including the owner of the restaurant Karishma were in traditional Assamese attire. Karishma said that most of the recipes are her own brain child. In terms of the quality of food, value for money and the hospitality of the staff members, I am giving a 5-Star rating to this restaurant. #food #assam #amritachakraborty. I went URUKA on the recommendation of my driver because I wanted to try vegetarian Assamese food — and I’m so glad I did. It’s a tiny little restaurant serving the most authentic Assamese food, all made from scratch by Chef Karishma ji. The food is as charming as the chef herself. Assamese Food is simply the best when it comes to both taste and quality. It is light, it is healthy, and most importantly, it has a fantastic after-effect. After reaching Guwahati this time, we were in the lookout for a new place to enjoy Assamese cuisine. Uruka came up very strongly during our research. Multiple travel vloggers have repeatedly recommended this place. Therefore, we went to this place the day before yesterday (Tuesday - June 24, 2025). At Uruka, one should ideally opt for its signature Assamese Buffet Spread. My partner and I did exactly that. Priced at a modest Rs. 600/-, the buffet has quite a few traditional delicacies. While the starters were served at the table, the main course had clearly demarcated vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The taste was awesome and the hospitality was fabulous. The servers made us feel at home and described each and every item on offer. The restaurant interior is extremely well-designed and gives one a tour of the typical Assamese village. Let me just say that we had an awesome experience at the place. We shall definitely return here during our next visit to the city. Great work folks! Keep up the good work!
