There are thousands of Udupi restaurants in Bangalore serving south Indian food. But which was the first Udupi restaurant? Today I went there for breakfast. Reached Udupi Sri Krishna Bhavan in Balepet. The restaurant is 99 years old. This is the first Udupi restaurant in Bangalore. Established by H.V. Janardhanaiah in 1926. His uncle started a small restaurant in 1902 and it moved to this location in 1926. The original flooring and the Madras Roof ceiling still remains. Ordered their specialty - Sagu Dosa. There is Sagu inside. Followed it with a Kesari Bath. Pure Kesari is used in the Kesari Bath. Ended with a Udupi filter coffee served in a davara and tumbler.
