After a roller coaster of a week, I wanted to go and unwind myself with some beers. But I didn’t want to travel all the way to my usual spot which is Balewadi High Street, so I settled for something closer. Udupi Lunch Home and Resto Bar, is very close to my house, so I walked there. I don’t know why I never posted about this place and I feel extremely embarrassed about that but better late than never! Anyone who knows me decently well knows that I have a soulful connection to Karnataka via my graduation and work years there. So obviously, me discovering this place is not a surprise. They have recently revamped the place and the place looks neat and cleaner now! I absolutely LOVE the chicken ghee roast they have here. It is the closest to the one we used to get in Mangalore-Manipal-Udupi belt. My person choice of side whenever I go there for some beers. The fried fish are decent, most of the stuff here is localised and hence there might be a slight difference in flavours but they are really good nonetheless. For instance, the tawa fry masala was great but it was extremely spicy to an extent where the fish flavour was lost and the server was so kind and apologetic but I understand that sometimes people might demand for the heavily spiced version but you can tell them to moderate it before you place the order! The ghee rice is also the second thing which is very very very patent of the Mangalore style, ghee laden and loads of cashews! Absolutely love it. I prefer to have the ghee roast with neer dosse but you can have it with anything and it will still taste great! For PCMC, the restaurant is there on Swiggy and Zomato as well but it is heavily advised if you can go there and have it. Please note that it is a local bar setup, Kishore Kumar songs in the background and constant clinking of bottles and elders laughing over daddy jokes. The servers and managers are very kind. Never had any issue whatsoever going there. Just one advice to the management: Maybe have one more washroom. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹600–800
