Cooks at this cafe do their best to provide guests with good hot sandwiches, hummus and sandwich cakes. Nicely cooked chocolate sandwiches, biscuits and chocolate chip cookies are the best dishes. Toska Chocolate House offers you delicious cold coffee, tea or smoothies.

This place is just good for ambience, if you’re expecting food and beverages to be be good, to be honest they’re just average as per the price they’re charging. I’d say the roadside coffee on HL road is much better and thick and that too in half price. Not all cafes have that flair to truly go out and present outstanding food. It was always a very elaborate menu with sophisticated or foreign names with a half-baked description tailing the so-entitled food with a very bland flavour regardless of the aesthetics. Cafes have become synonymous with aesthetics rather than focusing on food and service as well. Thankfully, Toska Chocolate House, wasn't just cutely aesthetic, but it also served some delightful food on the table regardless of the absent cutlery and a little dusty furniture, to some extent and wasn't disappointing at all. A villa-turned-cafe, you're invited to a peaceful and minimalist atmosphere lit naturally. The menu was elaborate, descriptive and promising. Therefore, I and my friend, decided to order the Mozzarella Pizza Toast, Creamy Veggie Bagel Sandwich, Chilli Cheese Croissant Sandwich and for dessert we ordered the Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie with Vanilla Ice cream. The Mozzarella Pizza Toast may have looked like any other toast decorated with layer of cheese and vegetables but the use of sourdough bread, a pizza sauce that was robustly flavoursome, fresh tomato slices, stringy and fun mozzarella cheese with a herb seasoning was simple yet soulful and comforting. The textural diversity was not much but it was compensated with the flavour it possessed and the much delicious dip. The Chilli Cheese Croissant Sandwich made my day. It was a triumph and the dish of the day. The absolutely flaky and buttery croissant just taken over to the edge of brown all around encompassing a delicious melange of Chillies (Not Capsicums) and Cheese and herbs was a frabjous dish that this author could have everyday of the week. the Complimentary cocktail sauce which surely contained some ketchup boosted the flavour in the sandwich. The only thing I left on that plat and I wouldn't bother to put much at all was the house salad. The Bagel Sandwich was the first miss of the lunch. While it was visually pleasing to the eye, it was absolutely bland on the palette. Devoid of ample seasoning and sauce or flavouring made it not so appetising. Even the same cocktail sauce that accompanied the Croissant Sandwich and the Toast too couldn't help this bland burger. If anything nice, I'd vote for the chips dusted with salt and Chilli Powder. And finally, we come to the dessert. First-up the Giant Cookie isn't Giant but a monster and I was glad to be accompanied by someone to finish it. While the flavours were stunning and so comforting especially when eaten with the scoop of Vanilla Ice cream and Chocolate sauce on top, the texture of that cookie was something to be remembered. One must become a kid while having this dessert for its homeliness and soft, brownie-like texture with countless chocolate chips that just seamless melt in one's mouth. This dessert must be a dish to be remembered from this place, indeed. The service of this place was a bit questionable. It wasn't seamless at all especially to mess up one's order when there are no other customers to tend. What was even more questionable was the invasion of privacy. The courtesy of providing privacy to one's conversations with the other is absolutely missing and this author had a rather silent time with the food. Service is definitely something that Toska must work upon as well as keeping the furnishings clean and dust free while also providing ample cutlery on table. The menu was delightful however the food served has its moments and then some misses too. All said and done, this cafe gets points solely for its food and menu and nothing more regardless of the misses it served. It is indeed a lovely place to visit for a Sunday Brunch or a classic date. The prices of the food are also quite reasonable and well within affordable ranges. Make sure to sit in the veranda covered with a glass roof when it rains for a much homely yet delightfully ambient experience. 3.5 stars on a whole!
