We did a cookery demonstration with Tiger Chef. We learnt all about the spices and main ingredients for six dishes including masala fried fish, fish curry, aloo, dhal and thoran. We had a go at using a traditional coconut grater and learnt how to make true coconut cream and milk. What a feast ! Everything was delicious. This is a family run local business and it was a delight to meet the whole family. It was a brilliant experience and I would highly recommend it. So lucky I was to stop by for a Chaï in the morning, that was particularly good, then decided to come back for dinner since I missed eating fish after 3 weeks in India (I am French).
Before tasting the fish, I had an extraordinary lemon and coriander soup, the best I enjoyed during all my journey. I think I am gonna miss this soup every day of my life !!!
The fish was fresh and perfectly cooked. It was very very tasty.
Of course the next evening, for my last dinner in Thekkady I came back ! The chef that time prepared me an incredibly delicious rasam soup... OMG !!!
I really had a wonderful time at Tiger Chef, the whole team was very friendly, welcoming and smily.
I will definitely come back again next year.
