I am someone who cherishes quiet moments in cafes, sipping on a cappuccino while working or reflecting. When I first discovered The Urban Cafe in Baramati on 18th January 2025, I thought I had found a perfect spot – clean, cozy, and seemingly welcoming. It quickly became part of my routine. Every day, I ordered my cappuccino, sometimes adding a sandwich, and spent a few hours working in my corner. But on 21st January, the experience turned sour. Post-lunch, I ordered my usual cappuccino and quietly worked on my laptop in the nearly empty cafe. Around 5 PM, an elderly lady, whom I assume is the owner’s mother, approached me and asked if I needed anything else. I politely declined, only to be handed the bill with a QR code to pay immediately. What happened next stunned me – she asked me to leave. Confused, I asked if the cafe was closing. It wasn’t. There were no other customers, and I wasn’t loud or disruptive. Yet, I was made to feel as though I was overstaying my welcome. After days of giving them regular business, this treatment felt cold and humiliating. Cafes are supposed to be havens of relaxation and connection, but here, I felt unwelcome and unwanted. I’ve since decided not to return. It’s heartbreaking because I genuinely enjoyed my visits until that moment. To those considering a visit: The cafe is clean, but their cappuccino is diluted, and their sense of hospitality is severely lacking. #BaramatiCafe #CustomerExperience #Disappointed #TheUrbanCafe Service: Dine in Meal type: Other Price per person: ₹1–200 Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

Dear Mr. George, We appreciate you visiting The Urban Cafe, but we would like to clarify a few things. Over 5 days, you spent approximately 15-16 hours at our cafe and occupied the largest table, ordering items worth only ₹1,000 in total. While we welcomed you and provided Wi-Fi, charging facilities, and a comfortable atmosphere, we also have a responsibility to accommodate other customers fairly. For perspective, one group of customers easily spends more than ₹1,000 in just one hour at our cafe, so your extended stay with minimal spending over several days was not sustainable for us. Our cafe has a transparent mirror, which means potential groups or families who might have wanted to come in may have decided against it because they saw the big table was already occupied. On the last day, you sat for hours after spending only ₹120, making us feel uncomfortable. We even asked you to sit at another table and offered a charging point, but you refused and chose to sit at the big table again. We politely handed you the bill as a gentle reminder, which is standard practice in many cafes after extended stays with minimal orders. Regarding your comment about the coffee, if you had any issues, it would have been helpful to let us know immediately on the first day rather than on the last day. Our cafe has limited seating, and we prioritize creating a balanced experience for all guests. Thank you for your feedback, but we stand by our actions in maintaining a fair environment for everyone.
