In the last couple of years, I had heard so much about this place from friends that I couldn’t ignore anymore. I was so immersed in CTR that I have always felt that anything new is just a gimmick to get the attention of the young Bangalore crowd. Anyway, in this trip, my wife and I along with the kids went to this cafe in Rajajinagar. I was surprised by the number of options. That’s not what you find in a typical Bangalore darshini. We started off with the podi idly with minimum expectations. One bite dipped in the chutney with minty flavor, and we were just bowled. I have not eaten fluffier idly in life. It was just perfect. We ordered the dosas as well. The benne masala dosa was good but not as good as CTR. Rameshwaram Cafe has a lot more dosa options. The Rava dosa was fantastic and my kids just loved it. We tried a bunch of other food items. Everything was awesome. Of course, the place is crowded since it is all the rage. I can see why almost everyone who tries here falls in love with this eatery. The idlies are certainly the best I have tried here. It beats the top idly places in town. I’ll make a prediction. Rameshwaram Cafe will soon be spoken in the same breath as CTR and Vidyarthi Bhavan. That’s the highest compliment I can give.
