The Parking lot, the newest addition to the city of joy, Located at the food hub of Kolkata which is Park Street specifically opposite of Allen Park. The name seems interesting to you and the concept too. So basically they are based on parking lot themed and concept that mean you park yourself over there with a hourly basis parking fees ranges between 50-200rs per person. So as you enter there they give a wrist band for check-in and ordered food.
Now coming to the ambiance, it was nice, bright and quirky with a huge bar top.
Now discuss few things which we like and which we don’t –
Downsides are –
1) They charge you 50-200rs per person for just being there, so for example if you are a group of 4 people and spend 2hrs.over there. That cost you rs.400/- minimum extra which doesn’t sound good. It should be an optional like service charges. At least I love my hard earned money.
2) This place is very small and accommodate only 50 people max and they don’t have any dance floor as well. In Park Street a hll lot of better options are there to party or booze.
3) When we were there at afternoon, they clean their floors in front of us with bucket and brush. This type of cleaning work should be done before opening a place or after closing the place. This definitely not looks good.
4) We forget to click our starter pictures as we are in hurry to finish our meal because if we are there for another 15 mins they will charges for another hour. So we saved 100rs as we are two people. And bought a magnum from outside for us. haha..
Pros –
1) I Like their overall ambiance specially that graffiti wall design and the bar top
2) I like their food as well –
We ordered –
>Chili Fish along with 3 beers – A perfect one to have with our beer. It was nicely cooked, spicy and the fish was fresh too.
>Bangkok Biryani – A fusion of Thai flavors with our Kolkata biryani tastes just delicious and absolute commendable. It has creamy coconut flavor to it. I just loved the preparation and highly recommended to try. It comes with peanut butter raita.
3) The food price was reasonable, competitive and they don’t charge you the parking fees from MON-THU I guess.
Overall it was an average experience and you can visit them once but not worth the hype for sure.
