Visited The Old Mirchi Biryani recently and tried a few dishes including the Phuket Fish, Garlic Chicken, and Chicken Biryani. Starting with the Chicken Biryani, the flavor was decent but unfortunately, it was served a bit cold. It definitely would have tasted better if it had been properly heated before serving. Temperature plays a big role in the biryani experience, and this did affect our impression. The Phuket Fish was a pleasant surprise – it's basha fish prepared in a Chinese style. It was flavorful and well-cooked, and we really enjoyed it. Definitely a highlight of the meal. The Garlic Chicken was also cooked well, but it didn’t quite hit the mark for us in terms of flavor. It lacked the expected spices and didn’t suit our personal taste preferences, although others might enjoy the milder profile. The dining experience overall was okay, but there are a few areas that need improvement: Service quality needs a lot of attention. The servers didn’t seem well-informed about the dishes or the spice levels, which made it hard to decide on orders. We had to frequently call the staff for basic things. For example, I requested a spoon early in the meal, but it never arrived—even by the end of our dining. There was a general lack of attentiveness from the staff, which affected the overall experience. The ambiance was decent, and with a bit more focus on customer service and dish presentation, this place has the potential to offer a much better dining experience. Hope to see some improvements on our next visit.
