The oberoi Kolkata is grand hotel.Housed in a palatial villa dating from the 1880’s, this elegant hotel is a 11-minute walk from the Hooghly River and 3 km from the Victoria Memorial. Close to the markets, landmarks and business centres. Good comfortable rooms Service: 4

The Oberoi Grand, Kolkata – A Classic Experience My stay at The Oberoi Grand was truly memorable. The hotel beautifully blends old-world charm with modern luxury. From the grand colonial architecture to the warm and professional service, everything felt top-class. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and well-maintained. The food at the restaurants was delicious, especially the breakfast buffet with so many fresh options. The staff are polite, always ready to help, and they really make you feel welcome. The central location is another big plus—perfect for exploring Kolkata. The pool area and greenery inside the property offer a peaceful escape from the busy city. It’s a bit on the expensive side, but worth it for the comfort, quality, and hospitality you receive. Service: 5

During my visit to Kolkata from UK, I took my family to Grand Hotel for buffet lunch on 16th February.

I had high expectations based on my previous experiences. Especially I promised my niece a grand continental display.

However, I was shocked to find extremely limited choice of continental, Indian, deserts etc.

Considering the price I felt extremely disheartened with experience and embarrassed with family especially when I refused their suggestion of ITC lunch.

I was not staying at the hotel this time. I don’t know if that meant I could not sit by the pool with drinks.

I feel let down by the Grand Hotel I have always cherished all my life.
