It's like my go-to place nearby my stay, especially in this dire WFH times.
It's good to have a change of scenery, and work from this Café. (Although honestly, I prefer going a bit later as I am finishing work, to chillax.. but then they often used to close by 9 pm; even before the 10 pm curfew was in place.. that was my major complaint..but well.. now everything is closed!)
Anyway, bottom line, it's a nice, chill place. Not just to hangout by myself, but also to catch-up with friends.
I must've asked my friends to meet me here often.. (also my dates :P) they should actually gimme a discount or something for bringing more customers.
Talking about the food, they've a good variety that is expected of such a café. You can't just thrive on ambience and coziness, right?
I like their starters.. crispy corn and such. Even the chicken ones that go with the liquor (although, I'd to send back the garlic chicken to spice it up more.. but maybe that's a matter of taste.. and my date was paranoid about bird flu back then).
Sandwiches are a good option. I especially loved the Oglio variety of Pasta (Spaghetti, basically). Now that was perfect.
Coffee can be a hit and miss at times. I usually go with Macchiato or a Café Mocha fallback. But the one time I went with the Hazelnut, it just wasn't frothy enough. And in general too.
And oh, I love their collection of books. I read one of the Sarah Andersen comics over there.. and it's fun browsing through some of the interesting collection that they have.
The owner is generally around. You can speak with her directly in case of any feedback.
Overall, a good hangout place (alone, as well as with the buddies).. And also, an ideal setting for a date (wink-wink)!! The ambience and the setting stands out more for me, and the food just follows up like an additional perk (not that it's average or anything...).
Recommended if you want to go someplace quieter near the Balewadi high street.
