My family and I visited The Market, at Westin Pune, for their Goan Food Festival dinner buffet yesterday ie Independence Day, 15th August. Table 36. Our experience was horrible right from the reservation hostess to the dinner service to billing. Regrettably, it appears this almost condescending treatment was because we had used the Swiggy Dineout offer. Food was okayish, nothing great to write about. We've had far better sushi, tempura, methi chicken, Goan fish curry, etc etc elsewhere. The live fish counter offered King Fish (Surmai), but we were served some thorny variant that had a weird, stinky fishy smell. When I brought this to the notice of the chef, he nonchalantly brushed it aside. Amit, our server, suggested getting us a mocktail, which we refused initially. When we finally agreed, he took almost 20 minutes and reminders to get this Virgin Mojito. Despite my request for an unsweetened mocktail, I was served a sugary syrupy mocktail.... and after yet another 10 minutes I was served the saada nimbu paani version of the Virgin Mojito. However, the server at the Indian mithai/Icecream dessert counter really took the cake for poor behavior. Apart from rudely asking each of my family members.... on our individual visits to the dessert section... if we were there for the buffet, he actually had the gall to admonish me for eating ice cream and mithai. Even opening the table water bottle was a struggle, each time. In short: 15th August, each year, is a cherished day in my family for personal reasons. We were looking to celebrate this special day with our family who is visiting from abroad. Instead we went back disappointed. The Market, Westin why don't you cancel the offer of 10 seats with Swiggy Dineout instead of treating such customers like second class guests? The Market, Westin....For a 5 star Westin hotel, your restaurant gets only a 1 star rating from me. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹2,000+
