The Denmark Tavern, Shrirampur Located near Roy Ghat and Srirampur College. As it is located on the banks of Hooghly river and far away from the city crowd you may enjoy your stay here either overlooking the the river or having a calm and quiet morning walk along the river. The resort is built on 232 years old structure. The Tavern was built in 1786 by James Parr for European travellers. It was restored by the West Bengal Heritage Commission, the National Museum of Denmark and the West Bengal government, reopening in 2018 as a heritage hotel. The house in owned by the government of West Bengal and run by Park Group. To convert the old building into a cafe a steel staircase and hanging porch is added and obviously the old house look is still maintained. The restaurant is located conveniently and the ambience is really impressive and refreshing! In the menu, I found few Danish items also. I had my lunch here and the preparation of the items are as per expectations. ****

Lovely ambience, very aesthetic. Only complaint is that they charge way too much for bottled water. The coffee was good.

The place is good on regard of heritage value and historical point of view. But menu doesn’t include much of danish dishes. The place looks very deserted, needs to put some warm colours to the place, when the menu is inclusive than some Bengal’s warmth should be there. Need to check on the acoustic of the place. The restaurant space must be cozy and warm. Liked the music and service and location. Easy to find. Service: 5
