The fall has been mightier than the rise for The Chaiwala at Tollygunge. Visited this place a couple of weeks back on a Sunday evening, but it was sheer disappointment. Multiple items from the menu, and the restaurant people said that the marination for Thai sweet chilli basil chicken wings weren’t done. When asked for the other ones, they said it will take at least 30 minutes when the restaurant was pretty empty manifesting the fact that there was no rush in terms of getting other orders ready. Then we asked if they had Prawn Tempura, and they said they don’t have it.Eventually we just had Chaiwala special tea which was an absolute bummer. The tea had too much milk in it with very little or no flavour of tea. Overall it was a horrible experience, and don’t think I’ll be opting for The Chiwala at Tollygunge unless absolutely necessary.
