A by chance luncheon visit ended up with an unsavory, hopeless meal.and experience. The prawns were cold, undercooked, over priced and fried -soaked un some horrible batter (corn flour ?) which made it even more disgusting.. Service slow and poor- lastly the whole place was as hot as an oven...poor air circulation and roof/side panels exuded more heat. Will avoid on all aspects in future and strongly recommend against going there.. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ₹200–400 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

If you are looking for a lunch spot with a contemporary vibe, you might want to check out Thakkolam Restaurant, located near Maradu. The restaurant has a sleek and cozy interior, with well-placed wooden furniture that adds to the charm. The staff at the reception are courteous and helpful, and they will make you feel welcome. The restaurant offers special dishes at a moderate price range. I ordered the Kerala meals with kozhuva fry and koonthal roast. The meals were served on a steel plate with various curries. I enjoyed all the curries, especially the sambar. I also paired the rice with the kozhuva fry and the koonthal roast. The koonthal roast was delicious, but the kozhuva could have been crispier and warmer. You can easily find this restaurant near the new Tripunithura-Maradu bypass road. They also have a wide range of seafood, ice creams and other dishes to choose from. The best time to visit is in the evening, when the restaurant is more lively. They are open until 11 pm.
