Teppan has always be my staple when I want to eat Japanese food in Chennai. Been going here for the past 7+ years and I cant believe I am only now leaving a review. The ambience is warm and cozy. The Teppanyaki grills and seating is well maintained and the food is always a hit. Their Sushi is amazing, I've had the entire menu and their meat is always fresh. They always put on a show for us at Teppanyaki grill. Chef Majid Khan, Prabhu and the new manager have always taken such good care of me.

We visited Teppan last Friday, and it was our first ever experience at a Japanese restaurant. It turned out to be a very memorable evening for me and my wife. A special thanks to Chef Majid, who received us warmly and took very good care of us throughout our visit. He patiently explained the live cooking concept, the dining process, and even tried to teach us how to use chopsticks. We definitely need more practice, but it was a fun experience. What impressed us even more was that Majid is also a chef, and since his manager was off that day, he took additional responsibility and managed everything so well. He truly deserves appreciation for the way he handled both the service and the guest experience. Another big highlight was Chef Maksidul, who cooked for us on the live grill. He entertained us with a few tricks, including card and stick tricks, along with the famous oil and fire show. The way he cooked, interacted with us, and explained the process made the evening feel really special. The food, ambience, and overall experience were very good. The pricing is slightly on the higher side. For two people, it came to around ₹2,500, which feels worth it for a special outing and live cooking experience. However, for a larger family, it may feel a bit expensive. Some discount options through apps like Swiggy, District, or similar platforms would have been helpful. One point to note is that the restaurant is on the first floor and there is no lift, which could be difficult for elderly people. Overall, we had a wonderful first Japanese dining experience. Thank you, Chef Majid and Chef Maksidul, for making our evening so enjoyable and memorable. Definitely recommended for anyone looking to try something different in Chennai. Couldn't sit at the teppanyaki counter seat because we arrived as walk in. But the quier atmosphere was perfect for conversation. Noted they didn't serve alcohol. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: ₹2,000+
