I visited Hotel Tara Tarini (Old Family Dhaba) yesterday for lunch, but unfortunately, the overall experience did not meet expectations. Food Quality: We ordered roti and egg tadka, two fairly simple and common dishes. The roti was undercooked, which is disappointing considering it's a staple item. The egg tadka tasted average, nothing particularly flavorful or memorable. It gave the impression of being pre-cooked and just reheated, which takes away from the freshness you'd expect in a dhaba-style meal. Service: Despite the place being crowded, we received our food within 10 to 15 minutes, which was a positive. However, quick service is only valuable when the food quality supports it — and in this case, it didn’t quite deliver. Ambience & Hygiene: The place maintains a basic level of cleanliness, which is acceptable for a roadside family dhaba. It's neither spotless nor unhygienic — just average. Water & Beverage Options: One surprising and disappointing aspect was the absence of branded water bottles. Instead of offering standard brands like Bisleri or Aquafina, they sell local water bottles, possibly for higher margins. This is unexpected for a place with a reputed name and can raise concerns for customers about water safety. Value for Money: Given the mediocre taste and quality, the pricing feels a bit high. The food does not justify the price, especially when basic quality and authenticity seem compromised. We visited this place on Sunday and ordered chicken biriyani, chicken mughlai, naan, tawa rooti, veg biriyani, veg tadka and paneer butter masala About the taste the chicken biriyani was good, a good portion of rice with big chicken pieces enough for one person. I can't say it's very good in taste but it was good. It costs us 150 rupees. About ratings I wanna give 7.5 /10 Chicken mughlai was just above average. Not comes in good category. They need to enhance the flavors and taste of the mughlai. Quantity wise it was good. But taste wise it was average. It costs us 160 rupees. Rating 6/10 Now coming to the veg part the veg biriyani was good. Although we have eaten in hotel surprise, truptee, venus ,hotel priya which comes on very good biriyani category so if we compare the taste with them then it was average. If we compare the taste according to the price then it was good. The rice portion was good with paneer and soybean in it. It costs us 100 rupees. Wanna give 7.5/10 The paneer butter masala and veg tadka was real disappointment it was the worst part of the dinner. Tadka was totally blunt with no tadka flavors at all. I don't know it happened to us only or their tadka taste was that but it was completely disappointment. Paneer butter masala was very bad I guess 8 pieces of cube size paneer but in taste it was only normal Curry gravy type no taste of paneer butter masala at all. It costs 100 rupees and tadka was 60 rupees both the items in taste wise 4/10 Overall experience was average not so good not so bad. You can visit this place for biriyani kinds of things. The staff and the owner's behavior was really good. They need to enhance the veg food's quality for sure. Take it as a suggestion. Price point of view it was very good every items were under budget of 150/200 for nonveg and 100/150 for veg. Overall rating 3.4/5 Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹1–200 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
