I visited Tanvi Cafe because of the remarkable number of positive Google Maps reviews. Without those, it's almost impossible to locate since it's just a front door to a personal home, rather than a cafe, in the middle of the old city. After being led into a small anteroom with a sofa, two seats and a small table, I ordered the Rajasthani thali and Saffron Almond Lassi. I first ordered the mineral water but this turned out to be a fake version of Bisleri (Bissley), so please beware of that. The food was fabulous and plentiful (enough to even feed two persons). Very tasty with just the right amount of spice and extremely budget-friendly. The experience of eating in someone's home rather a restaurant in this desert town was very interesting. Though I didn't really have much interaction with the hosts, like many of the other reviewers appeared to have had. They were friendly, took my order and brought the food, but kept to themselves after that. Can recommend a visit, but do take into account a bit of waiting time. My dinner arrived approx. 45 min after ordering. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3 Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹200–400

It might not look like much when you first walk in but this place is legit. Home style family cooking in a local family home. We tried the Rajasthani and veg thalis. Both were fantastic and the price very affordable. If you are exploring the old town in Bikaner make sure you stop here for lunch.
