Booked a table through Zomato District app because the restaurant was listed with an offer. The experience, unfortunately, went downhill at the time of billing. An extra water charge was added to the bill without us ordering it, and we were told to pay anyway. When questioned, the staff’s behaviour suddenly turned rude and unprofessional, which was quite unexpected. After this, we clearly showed that the payment was being done through Zomato. Initially, it was acknowledged. But once the staff realized that a discount was applied, they abruptly stated that “this offer doesn’t work here” and forced us to pay again directly, even though the booking and payment were made through the app. To avoid further conflict, we paid calmly and left, later contacting Zomato support. Adding to this, the cheese cherry pineapple dish served had spoiled pineapple, which is unacceptable in terms of food quality. Overall, the issue is not about discount, but about ethics, transparency, food quality, and staff behaviour. If you are listed on aggregator platforms, the offers should be honoured or clearly declined before ordering — not after payment. Very disappointing experience. Tried the mutton fry, chicken fry, and drinks at Tamarind Restaurant — everything was delicious! Friendly service, clean space, and reasonable prices. Definitely recommend! Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3
