Once the promenade around the Public Gardens (Bagh-e-aam) is over, visit Lobby Lounge. The menu of this cafe is recommended to International cuisine lovers. Delicious coffee or great tea are among the most often ordered drinks at Lobby Lounge.
The efficient staff welcomes people all year round. This place is remarkable for its professional service.
My friend was quite amused at my horrified expression as the Ceasar salad and the dish & chips I had ordered was set in front of me. He thought I had spotted a worm! The salad was a sorry heap of hastily cut / torn iceberg lettuce, made soggy with some kind of runny and clotted dressing; two olives and roughly sliced chicken strewn over the plate served with two two slices of equally sorry looking garlic bread. For a brief moment i had visions of tossing away the cutlery and diving into the platter head first, bovine style ? but sanity returned in the nick of time! I managed a few mouthfuls before giving up. The fish n chips (soggy?) was marginally better but the presentation was a mood kill.
Untrained service staff (a youngster who was probably put to work before his training finished); a complete lack of interest in ones craft and a lack of quality control was painfully obvious. In a city with super talented chefs who wow their customers with their craft and hospitality, Taj Banjara has a lot of catching up to do.
Never going back.
