Had a curious experience with an unpleasant and a clueless hostess at The Spot, Pondicherry. We had walked in for a dessert and coffee at 10 PM on 23 Aug 25.After our order was served, Martha came enquiring as to how two of us were seated at a table for four. She was bordering on impolite and obviously not conversant with the basics of hospitality. Then she started bragging about their Tiramisu containing Mascarpone from Italy. However, on being questioned about the missing lady fingers and the apparent absence of the liqueur element, she was at sea and beat a hasty retreat. A typical case of arrogance without substance! The Spot had looked promising but with their great hospitality, spearheaded by this overbearing hostess, imported from abroad, turned out to be in the category of ‘best avoided’!

I had an average experience in this place today.

I ordered pasta and it was very hard and uncooked first time. After escalating, they agreed to cook and serve. After waiting for more than 45 minutes, second time it had a big mosquito/ spider found in it. I was truly disappointed spotting a dead insect. On escalating the issue to the manager, Halith, he was very rude in his reply. He said its no big deal.

Not a single apology note or regret for either keeping kids hungry for nearly 45 mins or serving them poor quality food. After me requesting for waiting time snacks for kids, he gave nachos for them which he was not happy to provide.

Don't get carried away by the fake high reviews. It could be paid reviews too.

The food comes very quick and I love that the service provider Halith is excellent very kind and respectful and the place is very green and clean
