During a recent journey on the Pen Highway, I had the opportunity to dine at Swami Pure Veg Restaurant, and it turned out to be a very pleasant and memorable experience. The restaurant has a simple, dhaba-style setting, but the focus here is clearly on food quality and consistency rather than ambiance. While the prices are slightly on the higher side compared to other highway stops, the taste, freshness, and portion sizes of the dishes make it worthwhile and good value for money. We tried Paneer Handi, Rotis, Dal Khichdi, French Fries, and Lassi. The Paneer Handi was rich, flavorful, and prepared with soft paneer pieces that paired very well with the freshly made rotis. The Dal Khichdi was light, wholesome, and had a comforting homemade taste, ideal for travelers looking for something simple yet satisfying during a long drive. The French Fries were crisp, golden, and surprisingly well-prepared, adding a nice touch to the meal. To complete the experience, the Lassi was thick, creamy, refreshing, and left a lasting impression. The service was polite, courteous, and food was served on time without unnecessary delay. Overall, this restaurant may not offer a luxurious atmosphere, but for those who value good vegetarian food with authentic taste, it is certainly a reliable and enjoyable stop on the Pen Highway.
