Hyped place. Undoubtedly one of the oldest shops in the locality. About the sweets sold here I have no idea, hence no comments on it. Reason, I went there to try some of their delicacies but to my disappointment I had to return empty handed as no one in the store was interested to either ask me what I wanted nor did they give the time to attend to their customers. I waited there for a good long 10 minutes and I heard the guy selling stuff telling another guy (a customer) we don't give so much time to a customers. Too much flies flying around but their foods were all covered still flies lingering on top of the covers. That was also one of the reasons that made to pull back from buying. So first time buyers may be prepared to face these difficulties if you wish to try their sweets. Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

Suleman Usman Mithaiwala Bakery, located on Mohammed Ali Road in Mumbai, is an iconic spot known for its traditional baked goods and sweets. Here’s what people generally appreciate and sometimes critique about this bakery: Pros: 1. Authentic Taste: Suleman Usman Bakery is known for preserving traditional flavors, especially in items like nankhatai, mawa cakes, and khari biscuits. These classic recipes have kept loyal customers coming back for years, making it a beloved spot for authentic Indian bakery items. 2. Quality Products: The bakery is reputed for using quality ingredients, ensuring rich flavors in every product. Their sheermal (sweet bread), biscuits, rusks, and puffs have a unique taste that’s hard to find elsewhere in the city. 3. Ramadan Specialties: During Ramadan, Suleman Usman Bakery is especially popular for its festive treats like malpuas, phirni, and special sweets prepared for the season. The bakery attracts huge crowds, becoming a key part of the Ramadan food scene in Mumbai. 4. Affordable Prices: Despite being famous, the bakery is quite affordable. The generous portion sizes and reasonable prices make it accessible to people from all walks of life, giving great value for money. 5. Freshness: The bakery is known for its fresh products, with items often baked or prepared daily. Many regulars appreciate the freshness of their bread, biscuits, and cakes. Cons: 1. Crowding: Given its popularity, the bakery can be quite crowded, especially during Ramadan and the holiday season. Lines may be long, and the small space can feel cramped, especially during peak hours. 2. Limited Seating and Ambiance: The bakery is mainly designed for takeaway rather than dining in. There’s minimal seating, and the ambiance is simple and functional, which may not appeal to those looking for a cafe-like experience. 3. Availability of Items: Some popular items, like malpua or nankhatai, may sell out quickly, especially during peak seasons. This can be disappointing for those hoping to try specific treats. 4. Parking and Access: The bakery is located in a busy part of Mumbai, so parking and traffic can be a challenge. Many people recommend walking or using public transportation when visiting. Summary: Suleman Usman Bakery is a must-visit for anyone seeking traditional Indian bakery items with authentic, rich flavors.
