Subko Specialty Coffee Roasters and Bakehouse, located in the charming bylanes of Bandra, Mumbai, is a must-visit establishment for coffee aficionados. The ambiance is cozy and intimate, with a French patisserie vibe that transports diners to another world. The interior design is sleek and modern, with comfortable seating and a spacious layout. The prices are a bit steep but commensurate with the quality of the food and coffee. Special features include outdoor seating and a friendly staff who are always eager to help.
The menu boasts an impressive selection of roasted coffee beans and delicious bakery items such as croissants, muffins, cookies, and toasts. Some standout dishes include the Almond Croissant, Mushroom Quiche, and Harissa Cheese Sandwich. Coffee lovers can choose from a variety of single-origin coffees, including the Ratnagiri Estate micro-lot and the Sankalp Project beans. For those looking for something refreshing, the Peppermint Iced Mocha and South Indian Filter Coffee are highly recommended.
While the service can be a bit slow at times due to the high volume of customers, the wait is well worth it for the quality of the coffee and food. Overall, Subko Specialty Coffee Roasters and Bakehouse is a fine dining spot that offers a unique coffee experience in a charming setting.
Food: Very tasty and filling. For the price, the portion is good. Coffee is confusing to order. Seems like limited choice even when there's a lot on the menu. Service: One waiter..I think Aparna, was extremely helpful. Another guy at the billing counter was not when I asked for coffee recommendations. But service is slow. Super slow even when there isn't a crowd. I recommend the caramelized pulled pork sandwich. One of the staff recommended a sandwich when I asked for a non spicy option. It was super spicy. So proceed with caution! Area outside is decent with few bollywood art project walls within walking distance. Whole vibe overall is nice to work and chill. Unsure about wifi. The location is such that you can’t get your cars here, please use public transportation for this location or have to figure out parking around the cafe. Food - The sandwiches are so bad and chewy, the sourdough bread is as hard as a rock, not at all worth the hype. Drinks - Limited options but okay can’t complain, the only issue I’ve faced with them is that I had ordered coffee and guess what, no sugar packets no stir stick, just a very bitter coffee. Desserts - Liked them, can try. It’s a good place to work at and have a coffee, the food otherwise is very disappointing and it can also get very crowded. Subko is a beautiful café nestled in a charming villa in the heart of Bandra’s Ranwar Village. The space has a cozy yet airy feel, with three levels of seating— a small outdoor area on the ground floor and quieter seating options on the first and second floors. The glass display of desserts and baked goods on the ground and first floors is a nice touch, adding to the café’s aesthetic appeal. The coffee menu is extensive, and while we haven’t tried it yet, we’ve heard great things and are looking forward to it. The food, on the other hand, is decent but feels a bit overhyped. Vegetarian options are quite limited (around 3 out of 10), so keep that in mind. If you’re looking for a full meal, there are definitely better options nearby. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the washrooms are clean, and there’s plenty of space, making it a great place to work or just unwind. It used to be quite crowded, but now it’s much more relaxed and enjoyable. One thing to notethere’s no parking, so plan ahead if you’re driving. That said, Subko has a lovely ambiance, and if you’re a coffee lover, it’s definitely worth checking out!
