Nothing can be better than eating good masala dosa, sambar and idli. Don't forget to try tasty pancakes at this restaurant. Great coffee is worth a try here.
Food delivery is a big plus of Sri Saravana Bhavan. The well-trained staff at this place can show how much they like their guests. The nice service is something these restaurateurs care about. Karol Bagh ke mashoor Sri Saravana Bhavan jaane ka saubhagya praapt hua...^_^ (Not to be mistaken with the OG Hotel Saravana Bhavan of CP, although both share the same logo) I was searching for a nice south indian restaurant for my lunch fix. And stumbled upon this restaurant which is very close to the KB metro station. It's located right next to an Andhra eatery which is also owned by them. Coming to the food here..I ordered south Indian meals aka "thali" which came loaded with so many delicious curries! I was honestly spoilt for choice..and it just costed 170 bucks! Talk about being bang for the buck! :D The meals consisted of sambhar( my favourite out of the lot, although it didn't contain many vegetables except maybe pureed pumpkin and onions but taste was yummy) ; moong dal curry(nothing memorable); Lauki Dal curry(same as previous); Rasam (too salty but the flavours would have packed a punch had it been aptly adjusted) ; korma curry ( this was nice and spicy and my second favourite); Carrot and Cabbage thoran aka stir- fried veggies ( simple flavours and soo soo comforting, tasted just like home - and my third favourite), Appalam (south indian papad), White South Indian Rice ( to wash down all the curries with), 1 Roti, and Rava Kesari for dessert. What I loved about the sweet dish was that it was not too sweet, just perfect amt. of sweetness..and had pieces of coconut shavings which complemented the flavour of the dish. It was a little dry as compared to the traditional Rava Kesari which comes as one single blob with loads of ghee .. maybe if it had been heated slightly before bringing in, that'd have been lovely. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed eating it and would easily consider it my fourth favourite. The atmosphere was homely and chill with everyone having a nice, relaxing time chinwagging with friends and/or family. This is one of those places where you can spend hours without being disturbed to get off your chairs as soon as you finish your meal. I really enjoyed the vibe and had the pleasure of having a wholesome meal after a loong, tiring day. Also they maintain good hygiene by sweeping the floors from time to time. Moreover, my tummy took it well with no complaints for 2 business days. Needless to say, it was a gastronomical triumph and I shall keep coming back for more to try all the other delightful items in their menu. Thank you, Anna for hosting me! I have clearly mentioned them to not add onion and garlic in the food but they have added it this is a totally unprofessional deal I'm very disappointed and I want my money back
