Overhyped and overpriced — in fact, costlier than many places in Bangalore. Unless you are here just for the brand name, the whole experience feels more about showing off than enjoying authentic food. It’s like saying, “I have an iPhone” or “I had coffee at Starbucks” — more status than substance. To borrow a phrase, “Uncha dukan, fika pakwan.” Honestly, places like Chutney offer far better value for money, with the added comfort of sitting and eating araam se. The only saving grace here is their thick, crisp dosa, which is indeed well-made. But for the portion size served, the prices they charge feel nothing short of daylight robbery. Sadly, many North Indian visitors fall for the hype and assume this is the benchmark for South Indian food, when in reality, there are far better options around. One last point — basic civic sense. Please clear your used plates into the trash bins near the hand wash. It hardly takes a minute but makes a huge difference to the overall dining experience. The ambience and namma Bengaluru TRC makes this place an awesome hangout. One shouldn't miss the Ghee podi masala dosa here. The best part of any TRC cafe is the process of food preparation and cleanliness or hygiene. The varities of chutneys make the dishes more tasty. The unique ambience with Indian heritage style Architecture gives a perfect ambience and healthy dishes provide a perfect day out. The hyderabad TRC is not that crowded as compared to Bangalore ones.
