A must-visit place to get delicious, authentic, high quality banana chips prepared in the traditional way in Calicut city. Chips made from hand-picked good quality Kerala bananas, sliced and processed in the traditional way, and fried in coconut oil. The chips are cut in the right thickness (not too thick or too thin) to ensure the chips are cooked properly to ensure the traditional texture, taste and crunchiness. The chips are cooked in traditional woks and wood fired ovens to maintain the authentic and traditional cooking perfected over two generations of making Calicut chips. As a result, the taste and texture of chips is outstanding, and is miles ahead of the so called 'Kerala chips’ you get in supermarkets that come out of industrial Kitchens. Chips remain fresh, tasty and crunchy for a long time. Also try the tasty ‘Varutha uthupperi’ (4 Cut banana chips) and ‘Sharkara upperi’ / ‘Sharkara varatti’ (Jaggery coated chips) you get here. The Sharkara upperi / Sharkara varatti (Jaggery coated cut chips) are rightly sweet-spice fried with a coating of Jaggery and a well-balanced spice tint of dried ginger powder, cardamom and cumin.
