During my recent trip to Ooty, I decided to check out Lakshmi Illam Restaurant after seeing some positive reviews on Google. Unfortunately, my experience didn’t quite live up to the hype. I ordered the sambar rice, which was served very watery and came with fryums that were less than fresh. The tomato rice wasn’t any better—bland and unappetizing. To make matters worse, the table had a strong, unpleasant soap oil smell that made the dining experience even less enjoyable. I was so disappointed that I didn’t even think to take photos of the food. While I had high hopes for this restaurant, the food and the overall atmosphere left much to be desired.
