Spice Rack sits in a corner of a very popular complex in Prahladnagar, where popular joints like Cream Centre, Crazy Noodles and Rollacosta are giving stiff competition. 'Jack of all trades - Master of none' that's what sums up this restaurant with one of the widest menu but when you actually do try the stuff nothing really is good enough. Only good thing is unlimited dinner package if you are in a mood to just hog, because very less restaurant offer unlimited packages for dinner!
We had stumbled upon Spice Rack coz we were around the place and hungry, didn't wanna drive out to somewhere far. At first it would seem like any normal Punjabi cuisine restaurant to you. Even the menu is not so extensive so you'll be thinking "aur options nahi hai?" But once the food arrived, all our doubts had vanished.
We had ordered
Soup: Tom Yam soup - More Indian than Oriental for my taste, but much better than some other places I've tried that.
Starters: Shikari Paneer tikka - Yummy, spicy, tangy and filling!
Main Course: Shikari Subz Masala, Veg. Diwani Handi, Dal Tadka - The sabzis were all delicious, the quantity too very satisfying. Must try would be Shikari subz Masala. The dal was very good too.
Rotis: Naan, Garlic Naan - The garlic naan made me jump out of my socks! Perfectly fusionmed garlic peices, not too strong not too subtle! Appropriately seasoned and as soft as pudding! A Must Must have!!
We were too full for desserts so we thought we'd come back later. We're still to try their continental as well. Do visit to add one more restaurant in your list for quality punjabi food.
