Perfectly cooked biryani, fried chicken and pilaf are among the dishes to be tasted at this restaurant. A number of guests find the staff well-trained. Service at Soul of Bengal - Bengali cuisine ( Thaalis & Ala carte') is something one can call enjoyable. From the visitors' viewpoint, prices are average. There is quiet atmosphere at this place, as people see it. As for the Google rating, this spot earned 4.7.

The price of the thalis are on the higher side but the quantity, quality and taste of every item is undoubtedly bttr den most of the authentic bengali cuisine places in the city

We visited Soul of Bengal for the first time on Poila Boisakh. Upon reaching the place we were greeted by one of the owners who asked whether we had a booking. I had booked through Zomato so I showed him the booking. However it was told to me that due to poila boisakh they were not accepting bookings through Zomato and that zomato bookings came automatically without the knowledge of the restaurant authorities. But the owner was accommodative, well mannered & friendly. He made 2 tables available as we were 9 of us.After the initial brief fiasco, we sat for eating. Overall I must say even in that rush, the food quality was not compromised. It was delicious. Quantity was sufficient. The service was also fast. We had ordered fish fry, plain rice, alubhaja, kochu pata chingri, macher matha diye daal, mutton, chutney, aam pora sorbot and gondhoraj ghol. Even though we didn't have any complaints with the food, our noboborsho luncheon experience was rendered disappointing by the waiters who kept on pestering us for the order. We were not even given the chance to consult the other family members before ordering. Somehow my husband powered through and ordered. One of our family members was coming from the airport as he was coming from Bangalore. He couldn't even eat the starter(fish fry) because we had to order fast and then halfway through eating the starter we had to rush to order the lunch because again the waiters were standing behind us pestering to order. He joined halfway through our lunch & some how managed to eat. By the time he started eating, we had almost finished. We couldn't even talk to each other because the waiters were ready to clean the table.We understand that festival times are often crazy but we've never had such an experience while eating in other restaurants. We had reached by 12:30 pm. The restaurant was empty when we had entered. Atleast an hour of peaceful eating & heartfelt chatting was what we were looking for on New Year's day. Sadly, that didn't materialize. Stomach was full but heart remained empty. I definitely recommend this restaurant but not during any festival as they are still amateurish at client experience. I may visit again when it's not festival time but definitely not if there's any festival.
