At Soorma Bhopali, you may order perfectly cooked kebabs, paneer and makhani. Great cold coffee is the right choice. Food delivery is a big plus of this place. The nice staff meets you at this spot all year round. Enjoyable service is something that people highlight in their comments. Many visitors point out that the dishes have attractive prices. You will certainly appreciate the pretty ambiance.
The place, in my opinion is very poorly planned. The actual shop was divided into 3 chunks. Inner most was the Kitchen, middle one was a storehouse and the outer one, a reception. And there an addition triangle, which was bamboo covered, designed to sit and eat. I could not understand the concept of such big storehouse and reception, in place they could've replaced it with more space to sit. Although, at a location such as that, people prefer eating in their cars, it was like 80% was service area and 20% sitting area.
The menu was appropriate to the theme and location, and the price was affordable to the 100 buck weekend nights crowd, that are students.
We were intimated that the Tandoor items were not avaliable, which was understandable, as it is an occupational hazard. One shouldn't complain about that. People run out of stuff. It's normal. So we ordered for a Mini Meal of Buttee 'Chaap' Masala with 2 Tawa Parathas and a Soya Afghani Roll.
'A chaap is a soy product wherein a dough is made from Soy Meal, Salt, Fat and Water and rolled over wooden sticks and boiled. Very popular to Vegetarians as the texture is somewhat related to Chicken.'
It took almost 30 Minutes for the Roll to Arrive, which was nothing but a cooked Chaap Marinated with the Proprietory Tandoori Marinade, possibly by the company 'Veeba'. Although we could make out a lot of Masalas used in the preparation, it wasn't properly Salted, which resulted an unwanted Blandness.
The Mini Meal, again was Bland, but the Gravy was properly Finished, and in my opinion, Indian tastes excellend if Finiahed Properly, whatever may be the Cooking Process, or the Ingredients. The Tawa Paratha was infact very good and bigger than we expected it to be.
Although Soorma Bhopali has opened 2 joints which tells people have started liking it, work needa to be done to establish a brand value like the big boys Sagar Gaire's and Al-Beiks in Bhopal.
