Good Food, But Sweating Like I Was in a Gym, Not a Café. Visited Soko by House of Commons recently. Food was good, service was good — no complaints there. But honestly, what’s the point of a fancy setup if you can’t even sit comfortably? The place is huge, but they’re running it with wall-mounted fans, which do absolutely nothing. No A/C, so we were sweating through our meal — and this was in the afternoon, peak heat. Definitely not an enjoyable dining experience. Another major issue — no separate smoking area. A guy was smoking right behind our table and that just killed the vibe. Not everyone wants second-hand smoke with their lunch. And before you walk in with Bengaluru café expectations, don’t. Even Bengaluru is overhyped half the time, but this crowd took it to another level. Some people behave like paying the bill gives them VIP rights to zero manners and maximum volume. Civic sense? Expired. Decency? On leave. Final Verdict: Go for the food. Stay if you enjoy heatstroke, second-hand smoke, and watching overconfident café-goers perform like it’s their personal reality show.
