Both Ward's Lake and Snow Lion Tibetan Restaurant are recommended for visiting. All the guests adore gorgeous Tibetan cuisine at this restaurant. The staff is hospitable that's what makes Snow Lion Tibetan Restaurant so good. Spectacular service is something that people note in their comments. The atmosphere of this place is quiet. 4.3 is what this place got from the Google rating system.

Beef Thali -Rs.400/- Butter Tea -Rs.50/- Snow Lion, Police Bazaar, Shillong Tibetan & Chinese $$$$ 03.02.25 Today I'm at Police Bazaar for some work. Since my work didn't work out, I hesitantly thought I'd check up on a newly opened place for tea & snacks as it was 6pm. On the way I accidentally bumped into a porter who made my head unintentionally turn up & notice something which I've never noticed all these years of walking in Police Bazaar, Snow Lion -Tibetan Resto Cafe's signboard. Immediately I was distracted by the bright neon lights & walked up right into the restaurant. It was a pretty place with walls echoing the sounds of liberty for the Tibetan people & a cute little red door that opened to a tiny little french balcony. I took a table next to it. Mr. @tenziyano the owner came up with the menu which had the usual Chinese items & some interesting Tibetan items as well, some of which I've seen for the 1st time. Apparently the restaurant opened in 1997 serving Chinese food before adding Tibetan dishes in 2019 just before Covid occured. I still can't imagine this was my 1st time here. It was just 6pm & I wasn't very hungry. So I asked him to recommend me something. After going through the menu together many times, we finally decided on the Tibetan Beef Thali as I've never had a Tibetan Thali before. I also ordered a Butter Tea along with it. The food arrived within 15mins. It had decent quality rice, Aloo Phing Sha (Beef), 1 Tingmo, 3pcs of Beef Momo, Ema Datse, pickled radish & salad. On a cold winter night, I knew this was going to be epic. The Aloo Phing Sha with its super tender slices of beef cooked with mustard leaves, potato, mushrooms & tomato was a simple, rustic yet warm loving mountain stew. I didn't notice the glass noodles though, but then I didn't really miss them. This was the best beef dish I've had in a while. The beef momos were also some of the best I've had. The Tingmo was soft & pillowy. The datshe though good & creamy was a little on the salt side. The savoury butter tea was not my cup of tea, yet. Anyway I enjoyed my little accident with the porter which brought me to this wonderful find. I discovered this while exploring the police bazaar—truly a hidden gem. I ordered pork roast with rice and it was the best thing I've ever had in my entire life. The ambience was very lively offering a view of the bustling streets. The owner was very friendly and helped me with the menu. Would visit again!
