Calcutta has a long tradition of being “well-decorated and well-duped.”First the British sold us “civilization,” then Pishi sold us “change,” and now Sienna Café is selling… Panta Bhaat at 800 bucks with an accent thicker than Park Street on Christmas Eve.Walk in for a Bengali dish, walk out feeling like you paid VAT to the Vatican.Order “Panta Risotto de la Bong” or whatever glamorous half-Italian half-French name they invent next, and suddenly your middle-class soul starts taking screenshots of the bill for future generations.If you enjoy being aesthetically hypnotized into financial trauma,Sienna Café, Hindustan Park is your spiritual home.The decor whispers “heritage,” the bill screams “mortgage.”Calcutta cafés once served culture.Now they serve culture-shock.Bon appétit or as we say in Bangla,“Bhalo thakle abar kheye jao… jodi pocket thake.”বেঁচে থাক বাঙালি !

The food didn’t seem very good. I ordered a chicken burger. The patty was over fried with lots of salt and the plating was also below average. The ambience was quite average. It’s pet friendly, which is very good but the spacing between tables is so less that a pet can quite comfortably shake its head and shed off its hairs in your drink!
