I was cursing myself for having been so careless, and immediately called on the Datta Snacks centre number that I found on Google. It was the owners personal number and it was quite late in the night, but he took a moment to hear my issue and said he'd check with the staff and call me back. I wasn't expecting him to get back right away, but he called back within 30 seconds to confirm that his staff found the bag. What followed was a really heartwarming interaction with them over the next 1.5 days.
He asked me to describe the bag and it's contents to confirm that it was mine and I assured me that it would be safe at their restaurant till I or someone I know picked it up. Not only that, but he offered to send it to Mumbai with a staff member who works at their branch in Mumbai. When I said that a friend of mine would pick it up, he ensured that I sent an ID proof to both him and my friend for verification.When my friend reached Datta to pick up my bag on Monday, he noted down all his details and made him establish contact with me over the phone to ensure that the bag was being handed over to the right person.
I was really touched by amount of care and precaution he took to make sure I receive the bag intact with all its contents. I guess I was really lucky the bag fell into the right hand. This post is just to convey my gratitude and thanks for good people like him!
